Welcome to Merci Chief! To provide you with personalized food recipes based on the ingredients you have on hand, we utilize artificial intelligence technologies. This page outlines exactly what data is collected, how it is used, and who it is shared with.

1. What Data is Sent?

When you use the recipe generation feature, we collect and send specific data to our AI provider. This data includes:

Images: The photos you take or upload of your ingredients.
Locality Preferences: Your selected Country and Language preference to ensure recipes are culturally relevant and in your preferred language.

2. Who is the Data Sent To?

Your data is securely transmitted to and processed by Google Gemini, a third-party Generative AI service provided by Google LLC.

3. How is the Data Used?

The data you provide is used strictly for the following purpose:

To analyze the images and identify the food ingredients present.
To generate culinary recipes using those identified ingredients, tailored to your chosen country and language.

Important: Your data is solely used to fulfill your recipe request. We and our third-party AI service provider do not use your personal images or data to train foundational AI models, nor is it retained beyond the scope of fulfilling your recipe generation request.

4. User Consent

We believe in transparency and user control. You must explicitly grant permission before any of your data (images, locality) is sent to Google Gemini. You will encounter an explicit consent dialog in the Merci Chief app where you must acknowledge and agree to this data sharing before proceeding.

5. Your Rights
